Capturing Precious Moments: The Colchester Hospital Exhibition

1. Who is the photographer displayed in the maternity department?

Hi My name is Toni Field. I am the Colchester Hospital Baby Photographer. I have been displaying my photography in Colchester hospital for approx 10 years. All the babies in the exhibition are at the permission of their parents. I change the exhibition once a year with a selection from that years super star babies.

2. Can I book Toni for my maternity and newborn photos?

Yes, I would love to photography your motherhood journey! I have been photographing ‘Colchester mums’ and ‘Mums to be’ since 2010. It is lots of fun capturing those first family photos of love and connection.
Babies grow so fast, and change so fast from those early days .

3. How do your photo sessions work?

Maternity is up to 2 hours, in studio depends what we are doing really and how far along you are.
My maternity sessions are based around magazine style photography.
Specific lighting and clothing.
Painterly vanity fair, silhouettes, low light sensual. Swishy fabrics/  clingy frocks/  jeans crop top/ or implied nude if you are feeling brave! ( we hide bits with a strategic arm or leg swishy fabric)

Newborn is up to 3 hours studio time, and has a mix of parent with baby and solo baby set ups.
Use of my studio wardrobe and props. Even if you are shy I have some ideas based around parents hands holding baby.

4. When do I need to book?

Pre book either session from 20 week scan. If you are due at Easter or September the earlier the better. They are very busy times of year for babies.

So if you are booking date for maternity, its best to get you in before you fill to full, so I suggest 30 weeks onwards or when your bump is big but you are feeling glorious. I want you to enjoy and celebrate your bump, personally I struggled with mobility the end of my 3rd trimester.

Your newborn session is booked at the 20 week scan but is your flexible slot is based around your due date. Its flexible for obvious reasons, babies tend to arrive off schedule.

5. Are the images included in the session price?

There is one desk top print included in the session.
Again this will depend on a few things.
How are you displaying them?
Are you a album lover.
Are you a digital fan?

I charge a session fee. The session fee is for my time in studio, use of any props, in studio viewing of images and an 8×10 frame or block from each session.

(Further purchase options range from printed from £49 – £895 and digital from £395 – £995)

If you then wish to buy more, my prints start from £49 for a small print ranging to £840 for a 40 inch frame.
Boxed boutique velvet albums start at £495 which has 20 pages, I get you to choose your favourite 20 then create a story from your collection. You then check the design, just in case you want to swap anything around.

My Digital packages, are 10 x 8 inch prints with corresponding digital file in colour and B&W plus the video of your collection that you see at your viewing.

I do not sell single digital images.

6. Do I have to be part of the exhibition?

When you come in for your session, I have a permissions section of your photography session which you choose if you want your images shared. Its completely up to you. colchester hospital baby photographer
